Description:
The purpose of the corse „The making of continents - Regional geology” course is to give the students the understanding of the evolution of geological processes, leading to the changes in the continents and oceans distribution, the geological structure of the separate continents and their inter-relations. Students obtained the basic informations about the distribution and geological structure of the continents together with existing theories/hypotheses about their formation. The understanding of the processes forming the continental crust should result in ability to reconstruct the continental-scale geological structures and ability to make the inter-continental correlations.

Physical geology, tectonics, structural geology, ore geology.
