Description:
The aim of the module is to show migration as a cultural phenomenon. The selected examples will be discussed in demographic, historical, social, economic, political, cultural conditions and in the consequences of past and modern migration movements. Students are acquainted with key concepts and concepts of migration studies and interpretative approaches to migration phenomena developed in the field of cultural anthropology. The goal is to show mobility as an integral part of the human existence and to develop the ability to analyze contemporary migration phenomena from an anthropological perspective.

Knowledge of world history and geography at least at high school level.

The purpose of the work is to check the acquired knowledge about past and modern migrations and the accompanying socio-cultural phenomena as well as the ability to observe, describe and interpret selected aspects of contemporary migration processes with using adapted scientific terminology and procedures.
