General description of the programme:
The basis of the English philology program equal for all the specializations being a combination of practical and theoretical knowledge and literature knowledge, 2nd degree studies, apart from humanistic subjects and lectures, also cover various subject modules equal to each specialisation

Specialization: American and Canadian Studies for Intercultural Communications and Diplomacy
General description of the specialization:
This programme (specialisation) of studies aims to provide comprehensive training for American and Canadian studies professionals, whose professional skills combine proficiency in English with theoretical knowledge of diplomatic processes, international law, international and intercultural relations, and practical skills in intercultural diplomacy and communication. The graduates will be prepared for a career in public administration and diplomatic missions, in international companies and in other organisations, institutions and companies in positions requiring proficiency in foreign languages and diplomatic skills.
Internships (hours and conditions):
Teaching internship – 30 hours. Before conducting classes, students prepare their outlines. During or after classes students complete an observation sheet. The outlines are signed by a teacher who is an internship supervisor at school. Subsequently both documents are shown to an internship supervisor at the university. The evaluated elements include substantive correctness of the classes, the accuracy of the outlines, the deepness of self-reflection, the ability to use the knowledge gained during the studies, conducting classes and reflexive self-observation during classes conducted at school under the supervision of a professional teacher.
Graduation requirements:
The studies are completed once students have filed their Master’s thesis in American or Canadian studies and have taken the Master’s exam. The graduates receive a megisterium (Master of Arts) degree in English studies. The graduate obtains a diploma with a magister (Master’s) degree with a supplement. The supplement to the diploma contains the list of teaching modules, the number of teaching hours together with ECTS points, the list of obtained grades, information concerning awards obtained by the graduate and their other achievements.

This programme (specialisation) of studies offers extended and deepened studies in literature and culture of the English-speaking world (popular culture, contemporary culture, minority cultures and literature) and translation studies. The graduate of the specialisation is a well educated English studies professional, whose competencies combine proficiency in English with theoretical knowledge of cultural and literary theory. A comprehensive understanding of the cultural and social mechanisms of the contemporary world prepares the graduates to participate and have a career in the broadly defined area of culture. Apart from the foundation of fact- based knowledge this specialisation aims to develop the graduates' humanistic worldview, focusing mostly on the characteristics of the Western culture.

General description of the specialization:
This programme (specialisation) of studies aims to provide comprehensive training and education to English studies profesionals whose competencies combine proficiency in English with theoretical knowledge of interactive entertainment design and with practical skills in video game design, traditional game design, and games and software localisation. The studies are addressed mostly to the graduates of the first degree studies in "Interactive entertainment design and games and software localisation (SRINT-WRITE)", as well as to graduates of other first degree studies who have the required English language skills and the necessary competencies in game design. The graduate of this specialisation is prepared for a career in interactive entertainment as a lavel designer, game designer, localisation professional, as well as in game-related media.

Celem praktyk zawodowych jest praktyczne przygotowanie studenta do realizowania przyszłych zadań zawodowych oraz zaznajomienie z realiami pracy w zakładach pracy, których profil działalności umożliwia kształcenie umiejętności opisanych w efektach kształcenia przyjętych dla specjalności studiów. Studenci specjalności Projektowanie rozrywki interaktywnej (SPRINT-WRITE II) będą odbywać praktyki zawodowe w firmach zajmujących się produkcją lub dystrybucją gier komputerowych i wideo, firmach zajmujących się lokalizacją gier i lokalizacją oprogramowania lub w firmach działających w branży mediów cyfrowych, których profil działalności zapewnia realizację efektów kształcenia (na przykład reklama cyfrowa, usługi w zakresie tłumaczenia i lokalizacji serwisów internetowych, etc.). Praktyki umożliwiają studentom gromadzenie doświadczeń w zakresie obserwacji pracy twórczej nad procesem tworzenia gry komputerowej, procesami tłumaczenia i lokalizacji gier i/lub oprogramowania, pracy w zespole twórczym oraz współuczestniczenie w tych procesach.
