General characteristics of the field of study and the assumed concept of education: | Logopedia to kierunek studiów obejmujący treści kształcenia dotyczące zaburzeń mowy, umożliwia po jego ukończeniu prowadzenie profilaktyki, diagnozy i terapii rozpoznanych w toku postępowania dysfunkcji mowy w szczególności dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym i szkolnym. W trakcie studiów studenci/studentki nabywają wiedzę i umiejętności: prowadzenia profilaktyki zaburzeń mowy, diagnozy logopedycznej polegającej na zbieraniu danych związanych z dysfunkcją mowy występującej u badanego człowieka. Potrafią wyjaśnić przyczyny obserwowanych nienormatywnych objawów z wykorzystaniem wiedzy lingwistycznej, medycznej i psychologicznej. Istotnym wątkiem prowadzonego kształcenia jest także wyposażenie studentów w umiejętności planowania i prowadzenia terapii logopedycznej. Aby sprostać tym zadaniom w toku studiów prezentowane są zagadnienia związane z lingwistyką, medycyną i psychologią oraz pedagogiką, co staje się bazą dla wiedzy i umiejętności metodycznych odnoszących się do działań ściśle logopedycznych. Studia mają charakter interdyscyplinarny, z gruntu humanistyczny, integrujący wiedzę lingwistyczno-medyczno-psychologiczno-pedagogiczną z najnowszymi doniesieniami logopedii polskiej i światowej. Propozycja podjęcia studiów na kierunku logopedia kierowana jest do osób pragnących zdobyć kwalifikacje w zawodzie nauczyciela logopedy i jednocześnie zamierzających rozwijać własne kompetencje interpersonalne oraz zdolności kreatywne w kontakcie z innymi ludźmi.
Absolwent_ka zdobywa uprawnienia do zawodu logopedy, w szczególności jest przygotowany do wykonywania działań diagnostycznych i terapeutycznych w zakresie diagnozy i terapii zaburzeń mowy dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym oraz szkolnym, a także prowadzenia profilaktyki; może także prowadzić własny gabinet logopedyczny. Ma także ogólną wiedzę i umiejętności do pracy z osobami dorosłymi z zaburzeniami mowy. Absolwent/absolwentka studiów logopedia ma możliwość kontynuowania kształcenia na studiach II stopnia, także na kierunku logopedia, na których może poszerzać wiedzę i umiejętności dotyczące zaawansowanych obszarów interwencji logopedycznej, takich jak: praca z uczniem z niepełnosprawnością różnego typu, wczesna interwencja logopedyczna, gerontologopedia, neurologopedia, logopedia medialna. Absolwent_ka uzyskuje przygotowanie do wykonywania zawodu nauczyciela logopedy w ramach modułów kształcenia, zgodnych z aktualnie obowiązującymi przepisami w sprawie standardów kształcenia przygotowującego do wykonywania zawodu nauczyciela logopedy. Pełne uprawnienia nauczycielskie student zdobywa dopiero po ukończeniu I i II poziomu studiów.
Kształcenie na kierunku logopedia obejmuje 4 bloki tematyczne: logopedyczny, językoznawczy, medyczny oraz psychologiczno-pedagogiczny. Absolwent_ka posiada interdyscyplinarną wiedzę na temat biologicznych, psychologicznych i lingwistycznych prawidłowości funkcjonowania człowieka, w szczególności w zakresie zachowań językowych w normie i patologii mowy, jej diagnozy i terapii. W trakcie studiów zdobywa wiedzę, umiejętności i kompetencje, które umożliwiają mu współpracę z nauczycielami, psychologami, pedagogami, i lekarzami (audiologami, foniatrami, otolaryngologami, pediatrami, psychiatrami, neurologami), jak również przygotowują go do ustawicznego kształcenia i dalszego rozwoju zawodowego. |

Graduation requirements: | The condition for admission to the diploma examination is to achieve the learning outcomes provided for in the study program, to obtain a certificate of an appropriate level of language proficiency in a foreign language and to obtain positive grades for the diploma dissertation. The condition for graduation is to pass the diploma examination with at least a satisfactory result. A graduate receives a higher education diploma confirming obtaining the qualifications of the appropriate degree.

Internships (hours and conditions): | Internships are an integral part of the study program, carried out by students in individual fields, levels, profiles and forms of study. Internships are to help in confronting the knowledge acquired during studies with the requirements of the labour market, acquiring skills useful in the profession, learning about practical issues related to working in positions for which the student is prepared during the course of studies. The internship is to familiarize the student with professional language relevant to a specific industry and work culture.
The rules for the organization of internships are set out in the Rector's ordinance. Detailed rules of apprenticeship taking into account the specifics of particular fields of study are set out in the field's of study apprenticeship regulations, in particular: learning outcomes assumed to be achieved by the student during the apprenticeship, framework apprenticeship program including a description of issues, dimension of apprenticeship (number of weeks of practice); form of internship (continuous, mid-year), criteria for choosing the place of internship, obligations of the student staying in the internship, obligations of the academic tutor, conditions for completing the internship by the student and conditions for exemption from the internship obligation in whole or in part.

Information on the relationship between the studies and the university's strategy as well as the socio-economic needs that determine the conduct of studies and the compliance of learning outcomes with these needs: | Logopedia została zaprojektowana jako nowoczesny kierunek studiów zgodny z wizją rozwoju uczelni uwzględnioną w dokumentach: Strategia rozwoju Uniwersytetu Śląskiego w Katowicach na lata 2020 – 2025 oraz Misja Uniwersytetu Śląskiego (dokument przyjęty przez Senat UŚ na posiedzeniu w dniu 20 maja 1997 r.). Obszary rozwoju tego kierunku korespondują z głównymi zadaniami kluczowymi, celami operacyjnymi i strategicznymi oraz typami działań, które zostały zawarte w ww. dokumentach.
Zadania na kierunku logopedia obejmują cztery cele strategiczne Uczelni:
1. Cel strategiczny 1: Silne zespoły badawcze i badania naukowe na światowym poziomie.
Cel ten będzie realizowany poprzez stwarzanie najwyższego poziomu naukowego kierunku logopedia – wykorzystywanie najnowszych osiągnięć badawczych z zakresu logopedii i dyscyplin pokrewnych; wspieranie prac rozwojowych, prac zespołów badawczych oraz współpracy z jednostkami naukowymi i badawczymi w Polsce i na świecie; w rezultacie – zwiększenie prestiżu Uniwersytetu Śląskiego jako ważnego ośrodka badań nad zaburzeniami mowy w kraju i zagranicą.
2. Cel strategiczny 2: Innowacyjne kształcenie i nowoczesna oferta dydaktyczna.
Cel ten będzie realizowany poprzez zapewnienie wysokiej jakości kształcenia i wsparcia merytorycznego specjalistów z zakresu zaburzeń mowy, zgodność programu studiów z wymaganiami rynku pracy, wykorzystywanie IT w procesie dydaktycznym i wspieranie inicjatyw Otwartych Zasobów Edukacyjnych (OZE) w procesie kształcenia, realizację programu studiów zgodnie z zasadami organizacyjnymi i programowymi PRK; przystosowania warunków kształcenia do potrzeb dzieci z zaburzeniami mowy; wspierania merytorycznego, psychologicznego i socjalnego studentów/studentek.
3. Cel strategiczny 3: Aktywne współdziałanie uczelni z otoczeniem.
Cel ten będzie realizowany poprzez otwartość na współpracę z biznesem i gospodarką w tym m.in. ze szkołami, przedszkolami, placówkami opiekuńczo-wychowawczymi oraz psychologiczno-pedagogicznymi, jednostkami samorządowymi, placówkami i instytucjami kulturalnymi, kulturalno-oświatowymi i innymi; współdziałanie i koordynację działań z partnerami zewnętrznymi w celu upowszechnienia i stosowania w praktyce wyników badań naukowych; kreowanie pozytywnego wizerunku kierunku w mediach i budowanie świadomości marki w otoczeniu zewnętrznym.
4. Cel strategiczny 4: Systemowe zarządzanie uczelnią.
Cel ten będzie realizowany poprzez planowanie średnio- i długookresowego działań rozwoju kierunku; pozyskiwanie dotacji i grantów na rozwijanie działalności kierunku oraz ich sprawne realizowanie; dbałość o kulturę organizacyjną kierunku na Wydziale w Uczelni; planowanie kapitału ludzkiego; zwiększenie poziomu samoobsługi kandydatów/kandydatek i studentów/studentek z wykorzystaniem usług dostępnych w Internecie; opracowania planu rozwoju i modernizacji bazy do realizacji dydaktyki.
Realizacja ww. celów przyczyni się do wyzwolenia potencjału pracowników i studentów oraz stworzenia jak najlepszych warunków edukacji i prowadzenia badań naukowych.
Logopedia jest popularnym kierunkiem studiów na świecie i zyskuje coraz większe zainteresowanie w Polsce ze względu na interdyscyplinarny charakter oraz takie wyróżniki jak: otwartość, nowoczesność oraz kreatywność, które są zbieżne z europejskimi priorytetami rozwoju w obszarze szkolnictwa wyższego i nauki. Absolwenci i absolwentki tego kierunku są wyposażeni w kompleksową wiedzę i umiejętności wymagane na europejskim rynku pracy i zwiększające ich szanse na karierę zawodową. Ponadto prezentują skoncentrowane na człowieku i jego potrzebach psychologicznych i społecznych podejście do kwestii związanych z zaburzeniami rozwoju mowy.
Znaczną część programu studiów stanowią zajęcia praktyczne, w trakcie których studenci/studentki nabywają kompetencje z zakresu diagnozy i terapii logopedycznej. Zajęcia realizowane są dzięki aktywnemu współdziałaniu Uczelni z otoczeniem społeczno-gospodarczym. Program studiów uwzględnia innowacyjne formy kształcenia: wykorzystanie OZE oraz nowoczesnych narzędzi i metod dydaktycznych. Badania prowadzone w ramach kierunku mogą mieć charakter interdyscyplinarny (obszar nauk humanistycznych, społecznych i medycznych/nauk o zdrowiu) oraz międzynarodowy – wspierana jest mobilność studentów i pracowników w ramach współpracy z otoczeniem oraz w ramach kontaktów zagranicznymi uczelniami i ośrodkami logopedycznymi. Studia umożliwiają także udział w życiu Uczelni w ramach działalności naukowej, kulturalnej i samorządowej, m.in. przez uczestnictwo w konferencjach naukowych i studenckich, aktywność w kołach naukowych i organizacjach studenckich, co sprzyja kształtowaniu postaw prospołecznych i obywatelskich. |
