The specialisation (Interactive Entertainment Design and Game and Software Localization - SPRINT-WRITE) is a new programme of studies that combines practical competence in the English language with practical competence in game design and theoretical knowledge of cultural, literary and linguistic theory. Thus, the course not only covers the field of English philology, but also prepares for a career in the game development industry. A selection of theoretical humanist modules included in the curriculum, provide a foundation of creative abilities, which are further developed through practice-oriented game design courses. Students also acquire practical, industry-specific competence in translation (game and software localisation). This increases the graduate’s value as a potential employee in game development industry, but also as a self-employed operator (as a translator specializing in game and software localization).
