Description: | Description The aim of the module is to acquaint students with techniques and strategies of written translation and various sources (dictionaries, the Internet), which can be used to find information about language items and relevant subject matter necessary to make a correct translation of a written text , including general and special terminology. Additionally, the module aims to make students aware that they have to constantly improve and develop their language skills and other qualifications indispensible to make a correct translation.
The module also aims to acquaint students with the meaning of general and specialised lexical forms; to make sure that a student after completing the course will have an extended knowledge of language and subject matter enabling him/her to analyse and revise translated texts. Moreover, chosen cultural issues concerning Polish and English culture are discussed during classes. The discussed cultural issues are necessary to understand the context of translated texts.
