Description:
The module acquaints students with the notion of diplomatic protocol and the history of its development. It introduces the principles of professional etiquette and emphasizes the importance of linguistic and non-linguistic behaviours in official communication situations. The scope of the module also envisages the discussion of rules of diplomatic ceremonial in Poland and in other cultural circles - particularly in Anglophone cultures - and the development of practical skills concerning the principles of professional conversation as well as skills concerning the analysis and unassisted editing of professional correspondence.
