Description: | The overall aim of the course is to develop students' competences in the areas of public speaking and self-presentation. The student deepens his or her knowledge in the fields covered by the study program and develops competences related to the art of public speaking and argumentation in a foreign language. The specific objectives of the course are: to develop presentation and communication skills based on particular strategies of public speaking selected with the help of the instructor. Classes focus on workshop-based exercises emphasizing the development of verbal and non-verbal communication skills, assertiveness, influencing techniques, and the student's ability to efficiently attain goals. The classes engage students in discussions related to current social, cultural, economic and political topics, thus contributing to the development of students' language competences. |
