ECTS credits: 3
Description:
The aim of the Petroleum and coal geology lectures is to familiarize the student with issues related to the processes of generation and accumulation of organic matter, transformation processes leading to the formation of coal and hydrocarbons. The types of reservoir rocks, their porosity and permeability, types of hydrocarbon traps, hydrocarbon provinces, theories of searching for coal, oil and gas formations as well as their economic and industrial importance will be discussed.
Prerequisites:
Familiar with physical and regional geology, Tectonics and structural geology, Deposits geology and english at B2 level.
