Description:
The main objective of the module is extending students’ knowledge and skills in teaching language skills and subsystems in secondary school and to adults. The secondary objective of the module is extending students’ knowledge on the role of Individual Differences in foreign language learning and enabling them to use this knowledge in teaching English at secondary school and at courses for adults. The interactive character of the lectures fosters the development of students’ higher order thinking skills such as drawing conclusions, formulating and presenting their own opinions, comparing and contrasting different solutions. Classes focus on developing students’ knowledge and abilities with respect to the practical aspects of methodology of teaching English as a foreign language at secondary school. Their aim is to extend the knowledge gained in previous methodology courses and offer opportunities for group discussions in order to encourage students to take the reflective approach to teaching a foreign language.
