Description: | The subject matter of the module concentrates on incorporating literary works into foreign language teaching. The module makes the students of neophilological studies aware of the need for the didactics of literary text in glottodidactics; it emphasizes the value of working with literary texts in different languages and it pinpoints the possible purposes of the use of literary works during a foreign language lesson. The module focuses on the principles of selecting and adapting literary texts for glottodidactic purposes; methods of working with literary works broadly classified as narrative, lyric and drama at different stages of education and levels of proficiency in the target language; and principles of planning and carrying out foreign language lessons with the use of a literary text in such a way that they acknowledge the specificity of the process of reading a literary text and constitute an element of foreign language development at the same time. |
