Description:
The subject Cultural anthropology is assumed to familiarize students with the essence of anthropological thinking of the man and human culture, to shape the skill of noticing and analysing cultural variety and differences. The subject allows for learning basic theoretical and research currents in Polish, European and American anthropology and for presenting the position of cultural anthropology among humanities. It is significant to present the role of this discipline in shaping the attitudes of tolerance and openness to cultural differentiation. Students are familiarized with the mechanisms of raising and functioning of negative categorization of the Other/s. The subject matter is to stimulate students to critical reflection on problems in intercultural interactions and on the resulting educational tasks.
