Description: | The main objective of the module is to familiarize the student with the specificity of research conducted in the Department of Cell Biology and prepare it for execution of the thesis, which usually is a review or essay. During the course the student is introduced to the principles of scientific work; learn to use scientific databases; searches for scientific information and assesses them in terms of usefulness; improves skills for rapid analysis of specialized texts. Under the supervision of assistant practices the ability to formulate objectives and hypotheses (compatible with mainstream research of the department); in collaboration with the group and assistant straight discussing scientific problems; practicing the ability to create simple applications and conclusions. The end result of the module is substantive and practical to prepare the student to complete the BSc thesis; formulation in accordance with the interests of student thesis topic; development of the plan and gathering the necessary literature. |
Prerequisites: | Knowledge of the natural sciences disciplines which allows to take part in the research activities of the Department of Cell Biology. Knowledge of English sufficient to understand the literature in the field of the studied subject. |
