Description:
The main aim of the course is to equip students with knowledge and skills that are essential for initial identification of chances and challenges in the educational process. Another aim is to make students aware of the dynamic nature of psychological features that play a role in the period of puberty. Psychological and psychopedagogical preparation is a condition necessary for effective pedagogical instruction, it enables skillful individualization of the tasks and in consequence, it leads to involving students in the process of learning and making them act according to their potential. From the methodological point of view, the course is based on theories and empirical studies that best describe the area of human developmental psyhology. However, taking into account the wide character of the subject (numerous links with general psychological theories that describe personality, emotional and motivational processes, temperament), the course also covers issues characteristic for general psychology.
