Description:
Students broaden and develop interpreting skills necessary for simultaneous interpreting of a variety of texts (e.g. newspaper and scholarly articles, speeches). They broaden the knowledge of the translation process and important factors having a direct impact on its outcome. These factors include translation methods and procedures. Students translate texts from Polish into English and from English into Polish. They work in class (individually, in pairs or in groups) and at home. The texts to translate vary in terms of genre, subject matter and target readership.
