Description:
The student gets the knowledge concerning the basis of the phonetic and phonological description of English. Thanks to that, s/he can describe the articulation of English vowels and consonants. S/he can describe differences between British and American pronunciation, and phonological processes characteristic for English. Also, the student learns how to describe English in terms of morphology, thanks to which s/he can describe the basic morphological and syntactic terms and processes from this area.

The student knows how to observe the changes in the phonetics, phonology and morphology of the language, in particular the pronunciation of words and how to observe the identifying role of pronunciation (e.g. distinguishes between the British and American pronunciation, or between standard and non-standard pronunciation).
