Description:
The course of the module socialization and education in multicultural communities familiarizes students with the cultural, institutional and subjective dimension of socialization in culturally diversified environments (also in cultural borderlands). Students learn the theories and mechanisms of socialization in the multicultural society, the issues of functioning of individuals and groups in the multicultural national and supra-national space and the issues of multicultural policy in Europe and worldwide. The essence of the module is making students interested in experiencing the social world in the conditions of cultural diversity. Students familiarize with the determinants of social participation of borderland children and youth and shaping intercultural identity in the situation of multiculturalism. They also study research orientations from the standpoint of multicultural society and cultural identity.
