Description: | Lecture:
1.Definitions relating to computer networks. Rules and modes for transmitting data over computer networks. Layered network architectures: ISO-OSI model and other models, types of physical and logical computer network typologies, computer network classifications, computer network standardizing organizations. Transmissions in computer networks: signal transmission – popular transmission media types, wired and wireless, building transmission networks, computer network topologies, physical devices in computer networks (bridges, switches, routers, concentrators, patch panels, gates, hubs etc.), narrow band and broadband transmissions, data coding techniques in a transmission medium.
2.Introduction to web technologies. Creating modern web applications using HTML5, CSS3. Technologies based on XML. Libraries: JavaScript/AJAX Google Web Toolkit, Jquery etc.
3.Using web technologies in preparing an environment for distance teaching.
Laboratory:
1.Preparing an environment for distance teaching. Network server configuration. Network and visual settings configuration of a distance teaching environment.
2. Sample modules containing didactic materials. Developing materials using web technologies.
3. Creating educational paths.
4.Own developed additions to an environment for distance teaching.
Project:
1. Developing a course in a selected subject using the tools studied in laboratory class.
