Description:
An e-learning training mentor should have a set of soft skills allowing him/her to effectively mobilise participants into learning, and a set of hard skills necessary for providing technical support to the participants. An e-learning training mentor (consultant) is an individual who supports and mobilises training course participants. E-learning training mentors use such tools as chats, discussion forums, virtual classes and the telephone. An e-learning training mentor does not need to have subject matter knowledge relating to a particular training course, but should be familiar with the course as such, i.e. be aware of the training program and its objectives. A mentor's responsibilities include also the operation of the e-learning platform and training applications as well as resolving on-going issues with platform and training course use, encountered by the participants.
