Description: | Course description: The aim of the course is to develop the ability of editing, word editing, proofreading of academic texts with the use of appropriate IT tools. During classes students poglebia znajomosc the aspects of editing and proofreading a text, becomes familiar with the standards of editing and word editing of a text and selected referencing and citation styles. Students develop IT skills in word processing of a text and using programms for data processing and presentation (MS Excel, databases, multimedia presentation software etc.) - practical classes combined with verbal instruction of the teacher. Learning outcomes – students master the knowledge of word editing software at the advanced level enabling them to edit and word edit their diploma work or other academic texts.
Technical competencies developed during the course: ability to create reference lists (bibliography) and footnotes according to selected referencing and citation styles, knowledge of word processing software and advanced features of word processors, ability to work as a part of a team when editing a document, ability to use spreadsheets and basic databases for data processing and presentation, ability to use citation management software and software used for assisting academic research within social sciences (Web of Science, Google Scholar, Google Scholar Citations, etc).
