Description: | The main objective of the module is introduction of the basic translational techniques and their application in English language teaching. Reduction, expansion, synonymy, modulation, notes and glosses as well as recategorisation are the main translational techniques introduced in the module which also involves issues relating to grammatical and lexical mistakes in translation and their similarities to the situations in the process of English language teaching. The module also encompasses comparison of the original texts with translations and their evaluation as far as function and correctness are concerned. |
