Description:
Practical classes, they can partly take place in a language lab. The subject covers mainly traditional consecutive interpreting (i.e. interpreting longer text fragments with help of notes). During the first semester, the programme focuses on preparing students for consecutive interpreting by means of memory training and teaching them note-taking techniques.
Prerequisites:
Native or at least near-native command of Polish and English.

Memory exercises: papaphrasing in Polish and in English, interpreting narrative fragments without notes. Presentation of basic issues of consecutive interpreting theory.
