Description: | The aim of the module is familiarising students with the basic methodological principles of teaching young language learners. Students learn about the characteristics of a child at different stages of cognitive, social and language development. The teacher’s role in creating conditions facilitating second language acquisition in the classroom setting is thoroughly discussed. Special attention is paid to the process of learning and teaching specific language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students learn lesson planning as well as selecting and evaluating the effectiveness of various teaching techniques. |
