A student who has completed this module, has some basic knowledge and can formulate both written and oral answers to questions concerning the origin of language, the design features of language that distinguish it from forms of animal communication, various models of linguistic communication, language understood as a system and its subsystems, linguistics as a subject, the scope of linguistic study and of its branches, as well as the most important linguistic theories
