Description:
The aim of the second series of lectures and classes in History of British Literature is to provide first-year students with an outline of British literature between late 17th century and the present. The lectures present historical and cultural background as well as relations of influential texts and writers with other phenomena and figures important for British literature and culture. The lectures also survey main cultural and literary currents as well as ways they are related to major British literary texts. The lectures are complemented by classes during which students work with the most important and influential literary texts of relevant periods.
