Description: | The course consists of 60 contact hours (practical grammar and conversation) during which students build vocabulary on the basis of textbook texts and articles; they work in pairs, groups or present their opinions in front of the group. Texts and lexical material give students an insight into German-speaking countries. Students practice listening comprehension and get familiar with new structures. The course aims at a revising and consolidating selected grammatical structures as well as acquiring new grammatical and lexical skills. Grammatically correct communication and metalanguage awareness are the focal point, as students are to become German language teachers in the future. Students practice reading, listening, writing and speaking skills on the basis of Goethe Institut tests for the international B2 and C1 certificates.
Course content (conversation): advantages and disadvantages of working abroad, addictions, diseases and threats in the 21st century, human relationships, recent inventions, homeland, emigration, Poland in the EU, role of the Church, religions of the world, professional life, job search and others.
Course content (grammar): comparative sentences, relative clauses, adverbial clauses of manner, adverbial clauses of time, adverbial clauses of reason, noun- verb collocations, the passive voice, consolidation of the entire German grammar.
