Module name: | Mechanisms of generative propagation of plants |
---|---|
Module code: | 2BT_E_20 |
Programme code: | 01-S2BTA14.2017 |
Semester: |
|
Language of instruction: | English |
Form of verification: | course work |
ECTS credits: | 4 |
Description: | The module presents current knowledge on mechanisms of plant generative propagation. In particular, the student obtains knowledge on biology of flowering, regulation of flowering, and embryonic development, with special attention paid to crops and other species important for biotechnology. The student learns how to recognize various structures related to generative propagation of plants, and to analyze phenotypes of mutants with disturbed reproductive developmental phase. He/she improves the abilities to analyze and interpret his/her own observations and experiments, as well as results published in scientific journals. |
Prerequisites: | Basic knowledge on eucaryote structure, plant cell biology and plant reproduction. |
