Module name: | General and inorganic chemistry II |
---|---|
Module code: | 1BL_25_98 |
Programme code: | W2-S1BI19.2025 |
Semester: | summer semester 2025/2026 |
Language of instruction: | Polish |
Form of verification: | course work |
ECTS credits: | 3 |
Purpose and description of the content of education: | The aim of the module is to familiarise students with advanced topics in general and inorganic chemistry in the context of teacher training. It covers the principles of nomenclature, the preparation and stoichiometry of inorganic compounds, and the analysis of their properties based on the periodic law, ionisation energy, electron affinity, and electronegativity. It presents the classification of compounds (oxides, acids, hydrides, salts, amphoteric compounds) and the characteristics of selected elements of blocks and groups 14–18, with particular emphasis on carbon, nitrogen, and sulphur compounds. Laboratory classes develop the ability to conduct experiments, prepare reports, work in a team, and observe safety rules. The module also supports the independent improvement of professional competences through work with scientific literature. |
