Module name: | Physical Methods in Medical Physics II |
---|---|
Module code: | W4-FM-DZ-S1-6-23-42 |
Programme code: | W4-S1FM19.2025 |
Semester: | summer semester 2027/2028 |
Language of instruction: | Polish |
Form of verification: | exam |
ECTS credits: | 8 |
Purpose and description of the content of education: | The main objective of the module is to broaden students' knowledge of modern experimental methods used in medical physics, physics and biophysics. Individual lectures are correlated with laboratory classes conducted in research laboratories. Laboratory exercises consist in performing tests by students and their analysis. This will allow them to practically get acquainted with specialized research equipment, enabling them to learn about the properties, structure and composition of substances, and provide knowledge about their use in broadly understood medical physics and even in medicine and biophysics. |
List of modules that must be completed before starting this module (if necessary): | not applicable |
Learning outcome of the module | Codes of the learning outcomes of the programme to which the learning outcome of the module is related [level of competence: scale 1-5] |
---|---|
The student knows the fundamental laws and formulas from selected branches of experimental physics necessary to understand the principles of operation of the research instruments used and to determine the scope of their applications in studying biological substances. [E1] |
W06 [4/5] |
The student knows and understands the basic physical phenomena occurring in nature, the methods of their description and the use of physical research to explain the structure of organisms and the phenomena occurring in them. [E2] |
W05 [4/5] |
The student has an expanded knowledge of the experimental methods used in physics and medical physics, is able to conduct an experiment, analyze the data obtained and prepare a report on the research. [E3] |
W06 [4/5] |
The student has the ability to work in a team, estimate the time and resources needed to complete the assigned task, understand the division of tasks and the need to fulfill the assigned task. [E4] |
U10 [4/5] |
The student can obtain information from literature, databases and other sources to correctly interpret obtained results and to draw and formulate conclusions about the structure and properties of matter. [E5] |
