Programme code: W4-S2KJ25.2025

Module name: Specialist workshop 1. Issues in the field of materials engineering and modern materials 1
Module code: KJ2A_WS1_ZZIMNM
Programme code: W4-S2KJ25.2025
Semester: winter semester 2026/2027
Language of instruction: English
Form of verification: course work
ECTS credits: 2
Purpose and description of the content of education:
This module aims to introduce students to the fundamental concepts of contemporary materials engineering and familiarize them with the properties and applications of modern structural and functional materials. Students will learn about the mechanisms that shape the structure of materials and the impact of technological processes on their functional properties. The relationship between the internal structure and the behavior of materials under operating conditions is discussed, as well as the possibilities of modifying their structure to obtain desired mechanical, physical, and chemical properties. Understanding these concepts allows students to make informed choices about materials and technologies in engineering design and provides a foundation for further education in modern materials engineering and advanced manufacturing techniques.
