Purpose and description of the content of education:
The aim of the module is to develop fundamental skills in composing clear and coherent texts in English, including academic writing. The module introduces students to the construction of correct sentence types and to drafting clear, logical written statements. It focuses also on composing a variety of well-structured paragraphs, gradually leading to the writing of simple essay forms. The module also covers an introduction to the rules of English punctuation, methods of paraphrasing and summarising texts, and the use of the formal register of written English.
