Purpose and description of the content of education:
The aim of the course is to present selected terms related to the organisation of a literary work. The starting point is the most basic distinctions and classifications (e.g. epic/lyric/drama; poetry/prose), completed then with their more specific realisations and variations (e.g. narrative forms, stylistic devices, the rules for composition, literary fiction). It is also essential for this course to demonstrate that the theoretical aspects of literary studies have the organising and clarifying function rather than the normative one. Lectures focus on the introduction of literary terms. Classes include the analysis of source materials and their use in literary interpretation.
