Purpose and description of the content of education: | The aim of the module is to build students' awareness of the persuasive nature of communication and equip them with the ability to recognise the complexity and multifaceted nature of persuasion in communication at different levels of communication. Within the framework of the module, students will study and interpret persuasive messages which vary in terms of the nature of the sender's intentions (communication action aimed at agreement and coordination vs. strategic action aimed at gaining benefits), the matter of signs (verbal, visual, auditory etc. as well as multi-media and transmedia), the intended effects (immediate or long-term), the scale of influence (narrow or wide), etc, while also practising the ability to first recognise and then create relativised persuasive messages. |
