Celem modułu jest: 1) Wykazanie trwałości dziedzictwa antycznego w kulturze europejskiej; 2) Wykazanie złożoności i wieloaspektowości dziedzictwa antycznego; 3) Analiza wybranych przykładów recepcji kultury antycznej; 4) Podkreślenie recepcji kultury antycznej w środowisku lokalnym Śląska i Zagłębia.
