Purpose and description of the content of education: | Participatory internships are a continuation of previous field activities. They provide students with the opportunity to prepare for the role of an art therapist by designing and implementing - under the supervision of a practice supervisor (academic teacher) - classes for a selected age and problem group. The practice area will be educational, care, upbringing, rehabilitation, diagnostic and therapeutic facilities. The student improves methodological skills, using knowledge of the theoretical foundations of art therapy and previous experience gained during observation and participation in art therapy classes. It implements artistic projects taking into account the interdisciplinary combination of artistic media and, above all, applies them adequately to the needs and perceptual and performance capabilities of the participants. Students additionally learn cooperation, as classes are conducted in co-therapeutic pairs. They analyze the method and quality of establishing contact with participants and verify the accuracy of the methods and forms used. They also define their interpersonal resources, point out their strengths and isolate less satisfying areas that are worth developing.
The final effect of the internship is an increase in the ability to prepare and conduct art therapy classes that are methodically correct, original and developing, the course of which activates, unites, and stimulates its participants creatively and emotionally. |
