Purpose and description of the content of education:
The aim of the module is to indicate the importance of movement and dance for expressively revealing deficits, as well as releasing tension in a therapeutic situation, as well as working on the student's own sense of body and space. As part of dance therapy, the student: Understands the significance and use of movement as a process through which emotional and physical integration is facilitated; Is aware of the goals and assumptions of movement in dance therapy and the functions that dance serves in therapy; Knows basic techniques and strategies used in dance therapy; Can use musical recordings and design music-movement exercises for therapeutic purposes; Can perform group circle dances and integrative dances; Understands the therapeutic significance of props used in music-movement activities; Improves the skill of movement expression in improvisations to music; Enhances movement coordination and auditory-movement coordination.
