Purpose and description of the content of education: | The lecture will provide the basic information on the idea of the Anthropocene: humans as a geological force and the link between deep time and human time. The debates surrounding the recognition of the Anthropocene as a geological epoch will be discussed. The Basic information on carbon-induced climate change and cultural responses to it will also be introduced. Separate lectures will be devoted to alternative ideas to the Anthropocene, particularly the Capitalocene. The Anthropocene and similar concepts have inspired the humanities and social sciences in the last two decades, thus interdisciplinary research conducted to show the complex relationship between humans and the environment will also be discussed. |
