Purpose and description of the content of education: | The aim of the classes carried out as part of the module is to present and explain to students the concept, scope, conditions and interdependence of the state’s energy security with other dimensions of security. Students learn about the indicators (measures) of the state's energy security, the factors influencing them and the most important conditions (domestic and international; political, economic, social, etc.) of the state's energy security. Students will understand the relationships and impacts of climate policy, environmental protection and energy security policy.
During the module, students will learn primarily about the following topics:
- genesis of the energy security problem;
- defining energy security;
- measurement (indicators) of the state's energy security;
- current state of Poland's energy security:
- sectoral analysis of Poland’s energy security: coal, natural gas, crude oil, renewable energy sources, nuclear energy - supply, demand, infrastructure, consumption, socio-economic and political conditions, trends and tendencies of change, directions of reforms;
- main directions of Poland’s energy policy until 2040, goals within them and actions to achieve them;
- main goals of the EU energy security policy (European Energy Security Strategy) and actions to achieve these goals;
- EU energy and climate policy and the European Green Deal - conditions, goals, means of implementation;
- main directions of expected structural changes in the EU energy sector by 2050.
