Purpose and description of the content of education: | The Corrosion and Corrosion Protection Module aims to provide students with knowledge of the chemical and electrochemical interactions between the environment and engineering materials. The module enables students to understand different types of corrosion, types of corrosive damage, as well as traditional and modern methods of corrosion testing and materials' corrosion resistance. Understanding the relationship between the type of corrosive damage, the material, and the interacting environment will lead to the acquisition of skills in selecting corrosion protection measures, implementing comprehensive protection strategies, and implementing corrosion prevention measures for engineering materials used in industrial applications. |
