Purpose and description of the content of education:
The module covers fundamental issues concerning the specificity of the sociological perspective of perceiving social phenomena and processes. Participants will be familiarized with basic sociological concepts, which will allow them to master the necessary tools for the proper understanding of social processes. The most critical sociological theories and paradigms in classical and contemporary sociological thought will be discussed. In addition, fundamental issues related to the essence of social research, their broad spectrum and the interpretation of empirical material will be addressed. The overriding goal is to present the student with the specifics of sociology treated as a scientific discipline and to draw attention to the critical problem areas raised within it.
