The aim of the classes carried out in the Modern Sociological Theories module is for students to acquire knowledge of selected theoretical concepts built from the second half of the 20th century to the present day. The classes also aim to show the philosophical sources of selected theories and the relationship between classical sociological theories and their contemporary continuations. The knowledge obtained should enable students to use theoretical assumptions and concepts characteristic of the concepts in question to analyze selected problems, processes and phenomena. With the acquired knowledge, students should also acquire the ability to critically judge the concepts they have learned.
