Purpose and description of the content of education:
The aim of the module is to acquire knowledge about the subject of personality psychology as a science (basic definitions and research traditions) and to understand and identify permanent patterns in personality (temperament and traits) and mental processes in personality. The students acquires knowledge about the emotional, cognitive and motivational components of personality and gets acquainted with psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive and social theories of personality. The student develops the ability to distinquish between normative phenomena, such as invividual identity, personal maturity or personality defense mechanisms, and non-normative ones, such as personality disorders.
