Purpose and description of the content of education: | The aim of the module is to present selected phenomena in the history of theatre from antiquity to the Baroque in a social, cultural and literary context. As part of the module, the student will learn about the conventions shaped in particular theatrical eras: ancient Greek and Roman theatre; medieval spectacles; Italian mask theatre; Elizabethan theatre and the Spanish theatre of the "Golden Age". Acquires the ability to identify references to past conventions in contemporary theatre and drama. |
