Hydrogeology Field of study: Environmental Hazard Engineering
Programme code: W2-S1IZ19.2023

Module name: Hydrogeology
Module code: W2-IZ-S1-164
Programme code: W2-S1IZ19.2023
Semester:
  • summer semester 2024/2025
  • summer semester 2023/2024
Language of instruction: Polish
Form of verification: exam
ECTS credits: 2
Purpose and description of the content of education:
As part of the Hydrogeology module, the student should become familiar with the issues of groundwater, their occurrence (unsaturated and saturated zone), physicochemical properties, basic hydrogeological parameters, mutual relations between surface water and groundwater, the laws governing groundwater movement, the basics of groundwater intake , basic methods of cartographic presentation of groundwater occurrence and estimation of their resources as well as the basis of their protection. As a consequence, the student should be able to interpret the results of hydrogeological and hydrochemical studies, make basic maps and hydrogeological cross-sections.
