  • winter semester 2023/2024
Language of instruction: Polish
Form of verification: course work
ECTS credits: 3
Purpose and description of the content of education:
In this course, students learn the principles of data processing and presentation using MS Excel. They acquire skills related to entering data into a spreadsheet, creating formulas, applying appropriate cell addressing methods and a variety of functions. They format and organise data, visualise it using charts, create pivot tables, apply searches and operations on dates, import data from various sources, and prepare worksheets for export and printing.
List of modules that must be completed before starting this module (if necessary): not applicable
Learning outcome of the module Codes of the learning outcomes of the programme to which the learning outcome of the module is related [level of competence: scale 1-5]
The student knows the concepts of data processing and presentation, as well as their areas of application. They know the terms: data, cell, cell address, sheet, chart, and types of charts used in Excel. They can choose the appropriate type of chart to illustrate a problem. They understand the concept of cell addressing (relative, absolute, mixed). They know the concept of pivot tables. [PPD01_1]
K_W02 [5/5]
The student can input text and numerical data into an Excel spreadsheet and perform simple operations (copying, deleting, changing font color and size, merging cells, etc.). They can create formulas, sort and filter data, and generate reports. They choose the appropriate type of chart to illustrate data. They can create a suitable chart and format its: legend, axes, data, and other elements. [PPD01_2]
K_U05 [5/5]
The student can prepare a spreadsheet for printing (divide and format pages, insert headers and footers). They can transfer a chart to other user programs such as Word, and interpret the data presented on the chart. They are capable of importing data from external sources. [PPD01_3]
K_K02 [4/5]

Name Category Description
Developing practical skills [a03] Preparation for classes
activities involving the repetition, refinement and consolidation of practical skills, including those developed during previous classes or new skills necessary for the implementation of subsequent elements of the curriculum (as preparation for class participation)
Studying the literature used in and the materials produced in class [c02] Preparation for verification of learning outcomes
exploring the studied content, inquiring, considering, assimilating, interpreting it, or organizing knowledge obtained from the literature, documentation, instructions, scenarios, etc., used in class as well as from the notes or other materials/artifacts made in class
Analysis of the corrective feedback provided by the academic teacher on the results of the verification of learning outcomes [d01] Consulting the results of the verification of learning outcomes
reading through the academic teacher’s comments, assessments and opinions on the implementation of the task aimed at checking the level of the achieved learning outcomes
Development of a corrective action plan as well as supplementary/corrective tasks [d02] Consulting the results of the verification of learning outcomes
reviewing and selecting tasks and activities enabling the elimination of errors indicated by the academic teacher, their verification or correction resulting in completing the task with at least the minimum passing grade
