Purpose and description of the content of education:
The aim of the module is to familiarize students with the cultural heritage of the Polish countryside. During the course, the most important aspects of folk culture of the traditional type will be discussed in historical terms up to the latest times, with an indication of the changeability and dynamics of the processes taking place within them and their spatial differentiation. Classes in the field of Polish Ethnology are also intended to deepen the student's knowledge of traditional rural culture and its characteristic elements. During the course, basic knowledge will be presented, among others, in the field of agriculture, crafts, clothing, food, construction, annual and family rituals, folk knowledge and beliefs, traditional norms and principles organizing social life in a rural environment. Students will gain the ability to use terminology in the field of the so-called material, spiritual and social culture.
