Description:
Elective module: a) Polish-English contrastive studies; b) confrontative studies The module is an introduction to contrastive linguistics, with special emphasis on contrastive analysis of selected aspects of Polish and English (in the case of choosing option a)) and/or different languages included in the programme of the study (in the case of choosing option b)). It also introduces the terminology of contrastive linguistics. Students are acquainted with the range of contrastive studies and the variety of different realizations of basic universal grammatical categories in various languages (Polish and English in the case of choosing option a) and different languages included in the programme of the study in the case of choosing option b)). In addition, they are trained in identification and analysis of linguistic phenomena in the contrastive perspective.

Descriptive grammar and practical grammar (in previous semesters), particularly knowledge and abilities connected with grammatical categories and the analysis of sentence structure
