ECTS credits: | 1 |
Description: | The module provides specialist knowledge of the techniques used in plant micropropagation; it familiarises the student with the principles of working under the following sterile conditions and the requirements and specifications of the micropropagation laboratory. Particular emphasis is placed on learning various methods of in vitro cultures tissues and organs of plants used for the effective regeneration of plants of usefulness, including ornamental plants. Discussed and experimentally tested there are chemical, physical and biological factors determining the effectiveness of plant regeneration and examples of micropropagation systems are presented for different species. In the experiments conducted by the student on his own, he develops the ability to work in aseptic conditions, learns the technique of establishment, maintenance, monitoring and analysis of plant cultures; collects empirical data and improves the ability to analyze and interpret of the results of the observations. |
