Description:
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the specificity of teaching adults, with a special emphasis on teaching a foreign language. The course covers the following topics: characteristics of developmental stages in adulthood, specificity and conditions for learning in adulthood, adult education theories and the idea of self-education and life-long learning, characteristics of adult learners, aims of adult education, didactics of adult learners – general principles and foreign language teaching (importance of individualization and needs analysis; principles of carrying out courses and lessons of general foreign language and foreign language for special purposes; foreign language courses for seniors, educating neo-philologists, self-education etc.)
