General description of the programme: | Studia na kierunku historia pozwalają zdobyć wiedzę przede wszystkim z zakresu statystyki i demografii historycznej, metodologii historii i historii historiografii, historii ustroju Polski, historii Śląska oraz geografii politycznej i wykształcić szereg umiejętności (m.in. dostrzegania związków przyczynowo-skutkowych wydarzeń, prowadzenia badań naukowych, analizy i interpretacji wydarzeń etc.). Dzięki dużej liczbie zajęć uwzględniających indywidualne zainteresowania uczestników studia pozwalają na rozwój predyspozycji (zwłaszcza w zakresie wybranej epoki historycznej) oraz kształtowanie samodzielnej aktywności intelektualnej i badawczej, a także przygotowanie do właściwego odbioru dorobku kulturowego i czynnego uczestnic-twa w jego kreowaniu. |

Absolwenci tego typu studiów zostają wyposażeni w wiedzę (także funkcjonalną) i ponadprzedmiotowe umiejętności (kompetencje), zwiększające ich szansę na rynku pracy (karierę zawodową nie tylko związaną stricte z edukacją historyczną), a jednocześnie zostają ukształtowani w zakresie postaw obywatelskich i prospołecznych.
